MSI Afterburner

MSI Afterburner is an official overclocking tool launched by MSI for its graphics cards. It allows users to test the performance of their MSI graphics card and unlock its full potential, making it a must-have for computer enthusiasts. To get started, open Afterburner and click on the settings button. Check all the voltage adjustment options. If your interface looks different from mine, you can change the skin as shown in another image.
The sliders on the interface represent various functions. As my GT740 has low power consumption and no power supply, I cannot adjust the voltage or power limit. However, if you have unlocked voltage adjustments, simply max out the power limit.
Now, it's time to start overclocking. Increase the default frequency. Some people recommend increasing it by 50MHz at a time to ensure stability, but I prefer to increase it by 100MHz directly. You can also increase it by 50MHz at a time for stability. As shown in the figure, I increased the default frequency by 200MHz, clicked Apply, and then clicked the K icon above for a benchmark test. The test ran smoothly without any issues.
Although benchmarks and tests are just small checks, long-term use requires lower frequencies to maintain stability. Decrease the frequency by 20-30 and begin overclocking the display frequency. Use the same method as before, increasing by 50 or 100MHz until instability occurs, then gradually decrease to find the maximum value. Finally, reduce it by 20-50MHz to ensure stability during long-term use.
Finally, here are the results of my GT740 1G's overclocking and the comparison of benchmark scores before and after. With a score of 29393, compared to the first score of 25996, there was an improvement of 3397 points. In the GT740 range, this performance is quite impressive.
Unlock Voltage Adjustment Control: Open MSIAfterburnerSetup, go to Settings > General > Security Options, check Unlock Voltage Adjustment Control, Unlock Voltage Monitoring Control, and Force Use Voltage. Restart AB software to use.
Core Frequency and Shader Frequency Adjustment: Drag the slider to change the core frequency. Press the "←" and "→" keys to make fine-tune adjustments. Click Apply below to confirm the settings. Reset will restore the default frequency.
Fan Speed Adjustment: Adjusts the fan speed of the graphics card with a 3-pin power cable or higher. By default, Auto is enabled, preventing users from setting the speed. Click Auto to turn off automatic mode and switch to manual mode. Adjust the slider to set the speed. Click Apply to confirm and Reset to restore.
Automatic Overclocking Settings: The right side displays real-time monitoring, including GPU temperature, GPU usage, fan speed, core frequency, rendering frequency, memory frequency, and memory usage.
